Jakarta, InfoPublik - National Commission on Child Protection (Komnas PA) chairman Arist Merdeka Sirait stated that there are 10 children's rights that must be fulfilled by parents, which include the right to play, the right to education, the right to protection, the right to get a name (identity), the right to national status, the right to food, the right to health access, the right to recreation, the right to get equality and the right to play a role in development.
"It is the parents’ obligation to fulfill the 10 children's rights. Have we fulfilled it??" Arist said in his statement on Saturday (26/1).
According to Arist, in principle, children's rights must be fulfilled. He explained, children are entrusted and given by God. Everyone has the obligation and calling based on conscience to provide help for a child.
"A child is a person who is not able to defend himself. So, parents have obligation to give care to the child," he said.
He stated that there are not many people who help provide assistance for all forms of children exploitation, discrimination, and crimes that occur at this time.
"Therefore, Aris Merdeka Sirait acts to free children from all forms of crime against the children," he stressed.
