Jakarta, InfoPublik – Ministry of Communication and Information Technology’s Director General of Information and Public Communication who is also Government Public Relation Coordination Board (Bakohumas) Chairman Niken Widiastuti said government PR’s role is necessary to help disseminate information regarding the distribution of village fund.
"This is to support Joko Widodo - Jusuf Kalla government to realize the vision of developingIndonesian periphery and villages. The program is realized through village fund distribution mandated in Law No. 6/2014 on the village," said Niken in the Bakohumas Thematic Forum at the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/23).
According to her, the regulation is arranged jointly by three ministries, namely Finance Ministry; Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Ministry; and the Internal Affairs Ministry.
She said there are a number of programs that have been conducted, being conducted, or will be conducted by the Village Ministryincluding proper and transparent disbursements of village fund, monitoring the use of funds and dissemination of information about the village fund program.
Therefore, Niken continued, public relations role is very important to help disseminate information about village fund distribution, so that public aware of the program utilization and supervision.
Village Ministry Secretary General Anwar Sanusi said the village fund can be used to finance government administration, development, and community empowerment, but the priority is for development and community empowerment.
Bakohumas thematic forum themed "Guarding the Village Fund" was held by Bakohumas in cooperation with the Village Ministry. The Forum was attended by government public relations in ministries, agencies and regional governments. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
