West Papua NKRI Expedition 2016 To Conclude on May 20

Various social activities will be carried out, among others, cleft palate surgery, family planning counseling, contraceptive kit provision, and Mental Revolution Movement dissemination.

 

"I expect the local government can help to disseminate the purpose and benefit of the NKRI Expedition 2016 in various occasions," said the Ministry of Human Development and Culture’s Interim Deputy for the Coordination of Social Vulnerability and Disaster Impact Affairs,  I Nyoman Shuide, Thursday (2/25).

 

In order to boost community participation, he also expected the local governments support the main events, namely, Gala Dinner in Day-1 and Indonesian Museum of Record (MURI) record breaking for the longest fish grilling at Triton Beach.

 

Head of NKRI Expedition 2016 Daily Executive Unit, Infantry Colonel Echsan Sutaji, said that supports from all parties are needed to succeed the closing event according to the agenda.

 

"We will also present various achievements throughout the mission to show the benefits of the program toward the community," he said.

 

Meanwhile, the Head of NKRI Expedition 2016 West Papua Operative Division, Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Rahmat, stated that a number of activities, for instance, briefing and orientation, have involved the regents and their staffs in order to succeed the program.

 

“Local governments and communities, he continued, are enthusiastic to join the activities. It is an honor for us who carry out these activities,” he said.

 

According to him, this is the 6th edition of the expedition which was started in 2011 in Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and now, West Papua. (MC.Sorong /rim/toeb/Translator: Wilda Stiana)
