Jakarta, InfoPublik - State Civil Apparatus (ASN) must be professional in performing public services to give positive impact on the nation’s economy.

Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Minister Asman Abnur asserted good service will be able to attract business actors to pay taxes, particularly those included in the Tax Amnesty legislation. Business actors are often disappointed by government agencies due to disproportionate service they received.

ASN must give equal quality of service compared to private sector. It is time for Indonesia to leave the conservative style of government services. "Civil servants should not be inferior to private sector in serving the community," said Asman Abnur via press release on Tuesday (8/2).

Good public services from well-qualified ASN are  expected to help accomplishing successful implementation of Tax Amnesty legislation.  Therefore, he is committing to accelerate bureaucracy revamp. "The service quality should be improved not only in tax offices, but in all types of public services," he said.

Asman added that changing the ASN’s frame of mind is also important. Thus, the Ministry is ready to assist local governments that need assistance in performing improvement of public services, good governance and performance accountability.

"We will be present not only during evaluation, but also in assisting the planning. We're ready anytime," he concluded. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
