Jakarta, InfoPublik - The General Elections Commission (KPU) will collaborate with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in preparing regional head election test to ensure the eligibility of the candidates who will run in the election.
"We will discuss several issues related to corruption, such as: convict, criminal, etc., with KPK. While, issues related to narcotics will be discussed with BNN," said KPU commissioner Sigit Pamungkas at his office in Jakarta on Saturday (3/19).
According to Mr. Pamungkas, KPU will meet the head of BNN to discuss the election test. "We'll discuss to what extent they can perform the test and whether BNN have the resources to implement it," he explained.
While with KPK, KPU will discuss the corruption problem in regional head nomination process. "Whether we can later take a stance or another approach, we will discuss it with KPK," he said.
He assessed that narcotics and corruption are big problems. Thus, it is important to ensure that all candidates are not involved in such cases.
