Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) claimed that their female soldiers are uninvolved in any drugs cases, despite the recent condition.
"I am proud of our female soldiers because they are uninvolved in any drugs cases, despite the recent condition," TNI commander General Gatot Nurmantyo told 1,500 female soldiers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force in Greater Jakarta and Bandung area at Ahmad Yani Sports Arena at TNI Headquarters, East Jakarta, Monday (2/29).
Gen. Nurmantyo said that TNI duty in protecting the sovereignty of the country cannot be done by the military alone. "War has changed by using ways that are not visible with naked eye," he said.
According to him, a wide range of crimes are happening now and the most dangerous of all is drugs. In this circumstance, the military should act with the people. It requires intelligence capabilities development.
He also underlined the need of vigilance in dealing with the dangers of drugs. Drugs are tools to destroy future generations—to become the lost generation, including the soldiers and the police who become the first target. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
