Jakarta, InfoPublik - Indonesia encourages the role of G20 member countries in formulating monitoring tools to create an inclusive job market and affirmative action for groups of people with disabilities. This step received appreciation from all participants in the G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) first meeting.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi stated that the Indonesian Presidency received appreciation and support from G20 members, engagement groups, and related international and regional organizations on the issue of an inclusive labor market and decent work for people with disabilities.

"The Indonesian presidency encourages monitoring tools, namely instruments needed to monitor the development of labor market inclusiveness for the disabled workforce to be applied to the G20 community," said Anwar Sanusi through a press release from the Ministry of Manpower's Public Relations Bureau, Thursday (3/10).

Anwar Sanusi explained that the monitoring tools initiated by the Indonesian Presidency are expected to be a supporting instrument for the formulation of a concrete and implementable G20 action plan to accelerate the principles of integration of persons with disabilities into the labor market, which was agreed in 2018 in Argentina.

"Hopefully, the main concern and alignment for groups of people with disabilities in the labor market can be ensured, including social security protection for them," he explained.

As the G20 Presidency, Anwar Sanusi said his party wanted to ensure that no group was left behind in various development programs. "This condition is in line with the SDG's agenda to ensure that no group is left behind, to obtain employment opportunities and decent work so that productivity continues to increase," he said.

During the implementation of the EWG, Indonesia will also continue to encourage all members to fight for the priority issues that Indonesia promotes, Anwar Sanusi added.

"Indonesia, by promoting productive and harmonious dialogue, also continues to encourage collaboration between stakeholders to create a joint commitment to fight for the priority goals of this Presidency," he said.
