Indonesia’s Covid-19 Recovery Rate Increases This Week

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia’s Covid-19 recovery rate this week shows a positive achievement. The government recorded an increase of 35.8% which occurred in various regions.

The percentage of national recovery rate as of August was at 72.87%. This number was higher than that of global average according to Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Task Force Wiku Adisasmito during a press conference at the Presidential Office, Thursday (24 September).

Based on the latest data as of Thursday (24 September), patients recovered had reached 191,853 cases (73.2%), with the addition of 4,634 new cases, 60,064 (22.9%) active cases, and 10,105 (3,9%) death cases.

Meanwhile, the average of global active cases was at 23.16%, 73.77% recovered cases, and 3.05% death cases. According to a weekly analysis as of 20 September, there were five provinces with positive achievements with recovery rates above the national average, Wiku said.

The provinces are North Maluku (89.71%), Gorontalo (87.19%), North Kalimantan (86.09%), Bangka Belitung Islands (84.89%), and North Sulawesi (83.51%).

For the provinces with the highest number of recovery cases, DKI Jakarta recorded an increase with 1,540 cases, West Java (1,093 cases), Central Java (845 cases), Aceh (730 cases) and Riau Islands (247 cases).

Wiku invited other local governments to learn from the three provinces with the highest recovery percentage, namely North Maluku (89.71%), Gorontalo (87.19%), and North Kalimantan (86.09%).
