Jakarta, InfoPublik – The implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) can support the acceleration of infrastructure development in Indonesia.
The Public Works and Public Housing Ministry's construction services resources and institutional development director Yaya Supriatna explained that BIM technology is a process of data generation and management of a construction over its life cycle. This technology uses a dynamic real time 3D software to increase productivity in design and construction.
"This comprehensive software helps building and construction specialists in designing, simulating, visualizing, and building a better structure," said Yaya Supriatna in Jakarta, Monday (17/10).
In terms of business development, the use of BIM will improve the performance of construction service user and construction service providers organizations. The benefit of BIM technology is first, it reduces errors and omissions; Second, it reduces repetitive working processes and the duration of a project; Third, it increases profits earned in the construction industry.
Yaya Supriatna hoped that not only the introduction of this technology will introduce BIM technology but also create trained experts; assist in applying the technology to construction services; as well as establish transfer of knowledge and experience with the national construction services.
