Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Marwan Jafar asked islamic clerics and boarding school students to participate in the supervision of the use of village funds, in order to meet people's expectations of the rural development success.
"With the village funds, the acceleration process of national development is focuesed in villages. Many people expect that many villages in Indonesia can be developed through the program," said Mr. Jafar, Sunday (5/15).
He said the role of clerics and religious leaders is urgently needed to contribute in government’s national development plan.
"Including the participation in supervising the use of village funds in each region," said Marwan.
He added that the clerics’ involvement in supervising village funds could be in the form of playing an active role in village meetings, especially in the formulation of village medium term development plan (RPJMDes), rural development action plan (RKPDes), and in the formulation of village budget (APBDes).
In village meetings, clerics as peoples’ role models, are able to provide input related to development program to be conducted in the village. It is expected that the process of rural development and the use of village funds can be run effectively and optimally, he added.
