Jakarta, InfoPublik - Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is ready to improve the quality of construction workers’ skill by cooperating with the local governments.
The Ministry’s Director General of Construction Yusid Toyib explained maintaining working quality is a must. Therefore, the regional vocational training centers should monitor that Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (SMK3) is applied on every project. "One of the tasks of the Directorate General of Construction is to supervise the regulations which have been made," said Mr. Toyib in Jakarta, Tuesday (1/19).
He expected that the cooperation between the Ministry and the local governments will be able to maintain the cooperation between the construction workers, the provincial government, and the training centers.
It is also expected it will promote the cooperation between the regional and central government in developing the quality of construction workers’ skill.
"In carrying out its role as the extension of the central government, training centers in the regions must perform construction supervision in the regions," he concluded. (Translator: Siti Chodijah)
