Jakarta, InfoPublik - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said, the spirit of the commemoration of the youth pledge must be able to improve the quality of human resources, so as to be able to face the increasingly modern global challenges.
"The momentum for the community to reflect the role of youth in facing global challenges," said Tjahjo Kumolo at the youth pledge commemoration ceremony in Jakarta, Monday (10/28).
According to him, young people must have five important things in responding to the imminent global challenges, namely intellectual capacity, leadership skills, entrepreneurship, to become pioneer, and to have innovation.
The key is to implement the mental revolution movement that has been planned by the President Joko Widodo and Vice president Ma'aruf Amin in the recent years.
"Through the mental revolution movement, Indonesia can face various negative impacts of modernization," said Tjahjo.
This year, the commemoration of the 91st Youth Pledge Day carries the theme "United We Move Forward". This theme was taken to reaffirm the commitment that had been built by the youths pledged in 1928 in the Youth Pledge. That only with the unity of all elements of the nation can we realize the nation’s goals.
The series of Youth Pledge commemoration ceremony began with the reading of the Pancasila text and continued with the reading of the preamble of the 1945 Constitution. The ceremony participated by all officials and employees of the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry also read the Youth Pledge, which is the result of the Indonesian Youth Congress 1928.
