Jakarta, infoPublik—The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has destroyed 42.98 kilograms of methamphetamine, 43,759 ecstasy pills, and 8.88 grams of gorilla tobacco. This is the ninth time that BNN has destroyed confiscated drugs this year.
In a written statement received by Infopublik on Thursday (24/10), BNN Head Heru Winarko stated that the evidence was seized from six different cases, one of which involved international drug syndicate.
In the first case, BNN seized 2 kg of methamphetamine and 234 ecstasy pills in North Sumatra. BNN also arrested three suspects with the initials MH, RF, and AZ in three different scenes in Medan and Deli Serdang of North Sumatra. This syndicate was operated by Irwanto, an inmate in Tanjung Gusta Class I Penitentiery, Medan.
In the second case, BNN seized 20.8 kilograms of methamphetamine and 31 thousand ecstasy pills from Adam’s drug network. BNN arrested suspect D when carrying the methamphetamine in a double cabin spare tire in Merak Port, Banten. In addition, BNN also arrested D’s wife Mir and AK with 31,439 ecstasy pills.
BNN also arrested another suspect with the initial CO in the parking lot of a hotel in East Jakarta. This network is controlled by Cilegon Class III penitentiary inmate, Muhamad Adam (MA).
In addition, BNN also revealed the 16 Kg methamphetamine case in Aceh. In this case, BNN arrested two members of the Malaysia-Aceh-Palembang syndicate network, ES and HS. Officers also secured 6 other suspects namely S, M, R, Mur, and PIT in a number of different places in Aceh. While the suspect FN (an inmate) was secured in Pekanbaru Class IIA penitentiary.
The fourth is the case of a Gorilla tobacco package in Tangerang, Banten. BNN seized a suspicious package containing 9.88 grams of gorilla tobacco.
The next case is the discovery of 4.1 kg of methamphetamine and 10 thousand ecstasy pills in Riau. In this case, BNN arrested the suspects with the initials B, TA and MI.
The sixth case is when BNN found two thousands ecstasy pills in a hotel room in Taman Sari, West Jakarta. DKI Jakarta BNNP officers secured D, M, and NG with 2,274 minion-shaped ecstasy pills stored in television cabinets.
