Jakarta, InfoPublik - General Election Commission (KPU) chairman Arief Budiman said the success of 2019 elections was an evidence of the continuing improvement of democracy in Indonesia.
"Elections in Indonesia after the reform period are getting better, transparent, credible," Arief said in his written statement on Monday (21/10/2019).
Arief added that in 1999, international observers monitored the general election in Indonesia. However, over time this number is increasingly improved.
"That means people believe that our elections have been being more and more credible," he said.
Recently, many foreign parties learned about the election and democracy from Indonesia. “We can say that based on our experience during the international forums.”
"Those accomplishment will be a part that we include in the election activity report," he concluded.
