Jakarta, InfoPublik - Home Affairs Minister stated that public service delivery will accelerate if bureaucratic reduction is made.
"Bureaucracy will be made simpler so as to create impact on the acceleration of public service delivery at all levels of the existing bureaucracy," said Home Affairs Ministry’s Director General of Regional Autonomy, Akmal Malik, in his written statement, Monday (21/10/2019).
Akmal stated that the ministry will first look at the policies of President Joko Widodo. "We are gaining understanding about the policies of the President and of course the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry which will become the leading agency," he said.
He added that when bureaucratic reform is officially implemented, Directorate General of Regional Autonomy would undergo necessary restructuring in accordance with its duties and functions. "This restructuring is expected to encourage better bureaucratic performance in the foreseeable future," he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo explained that he would reduce two echelon levels from the existing four echelon levels. The reduced positions will be “replaced by functional positions that take expertise and competence into account," President said.
