Home Affairs Minister Reminds the Responsibilities of DPRD

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo reminded members of the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) to responsibly carry out the functions of the DPRD.

"There are things that need our attention, one of them is carrying out the functions of DPRD properly and responsibly as stipulated in the law," said Tjahjo, in a written statement on Wednesday (26/6).

He reckoned that, as extensions of the tongue of the people, DPRD members, especially the provincial DPRD, must listen with sensitivity to the aspirations of the people  and be willing to struggle for them in realizing the regional vision and mission.

"DPRD members should collaborate or build partnerships either with regional heads or vice regional heads," he stressed.

He added that DPRD members must prioritize people’s interests instead of personal or group interests.

"The collective energy between DPRD members and regional heads must be directed positively to provide quick responses in solving people’s problems," he concluded.
