BNN, Macau Police Discuss Cooperation on Drug Control

Jakarta, InfoPublik - National Narcotics Agency (BNN) head Heru Winarko accompanied by the officials from BNN, Indonesian Police, Customs, and Consulate General in Hong Kong met Intelligence and Support Department head Fong Hou in Macau, Tuesday (5/28).

On that occasion, Heru introduced the Indonesian delegation and explained the structure and main duties of BNN.

He also invited the Macau Police to collaborate and participate in capacity building or training at Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) in Semarang and at the Center for Narcotics Laboratories and K9 Unit in Bogor.

At the meeting, Chief Investigator on Money Laundering Crime (TPPU) explained about drug crimes that are related to money laundering. Meanwhile, the Supervisor of the Special Investigation Division of Macau Police said that there are currently three Indonesian citizens imprisoned in Macau for being involved in drug cases.

Both parties agreed the efforts to improve cooperation in the field of intelligence and criminal information as well as counter-terrorism in the future. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
