Jakarta, InfoPublik-Home Ministry supports all public service institutions by providing population data.
The ministry’s Director General of Population and Civil Registry (Dukcapil) Zudan Arif Fakrulloh stated that the directorate general manages population data of more than 265 million people.
There are at least 31 data elements for each resident such as, name, address, gender, biometric data which includes samples of fingerprints and iris, and others. "Those elements are constantly being optimized and updated in order to establish complete population data," Zudan said, in a written statement on Sunday (26/5).
Zudan also explained the idea of integrating data in all government processes. It aims at easier, faster and more efficient public service delivery.
"We are preparing a new Indonesian civilization supported by strong population data based on single identity number or SIN," he said.
He added that currently there are 1,218 institutions cooperating and utilizing population data from the Home Ministry.
"In the future, using data from Dukcapil, we will actually have a one-data policy, which is a one-population policy for all purposes," he concluded. (Reporter: Eko Budiono, Translator: Erik Limantara)
