Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesian Attorney General, H.M. Prasetyo and Chairperson of the association of the attorney employees’ wives and women employees Adhyaksa Dharmakarini Association (IAD), Ros Ellyana Prasetyo, made a working visit to Medan and officially opened a free social service for cataract and hernia surgeries in the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sumut) on Saturday (3/23).
In his remarks, the Attorney General said that plans for social service and working trips in Medan had been made a long time ago.
"There has been 18,000 cataract surgeries performed throughout the Prosecutor's Office. We hope that this social service will be beneficial for the community. In addition to serving as law enforcement officers, Prosecutors must also mingle and have empathy for community," said the Attorney General in a written statement received by InfoPublik in Jakarta on Saturday (23/3).
The Attorney General also said that the prosecutor's assistance program (TP4D) had proven that all development programs could run well and the results could be directly enjoyed by the community.
"The cooperation carried out by Kejati Sumut with universities such as North Sumatra University (USU), Medan State University (Unimed) and Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed) is expected to increase the human resources available at the Attorney General's Office," he said.
The head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Fachruddin Siregar, said in his speech that the implementation of social services was followed by all state prosecutor's office in the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office jurisdiction. Around 365 patients undergone cataract surgery and 83 patients undergone hernia surgeries. The social service involved 50 doctors and 69 nurses, 10 of the 50 doctors came from Jakarta.
"The series of activities held for 2 days included the inauguration of Adhyaksa kindergarten and 'Holong Ni Roha' Maternal and Child Health Services, the inauguration of new buildings of Belawan and Simalungun state prosecutor's office, and signing of Cooperation Agreement with USU, Unimed and Polmed. On Sunday (3/24), the IAD ladies held a clean Indonesian movement in the Mandailing village, Babura," said Fachruddin Siregar.
Medan Mayor Dzulmi Eldin welcomed the prosecutor's program to carry out social services and mingle with the community. USU Rector Prof. Runtung Sitepu also appreciated the collaboration between prosecutors and academics and universities in enhancing human resources in the work environment of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office.
After delivering his remarks, the Attorney General officially opened the social service event and signed the inscription of the state prosecutor's office Belawan and Simalungun.
