RI-PH Discuss Maritime and Marine Technical Cooperation

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Maritime Security Board of the Republic of Indonesia (Bakamla RI) and the Philippines are discussing the technical cooperation on maritime and marine at the Philippines-Indonesia 9th Meeting of the Joint Permanent Working Group on Maritime and Ocean Concerns (JPWG-MOC) in Makati City on June 08 to 10 .

Bakamla RI’s Public Relations Sub Division  Head  Captain Mar Mardiono, through a written statement received by InfoPublik, Friday (6/10) stated that the forum was also aimed to prepare the Indonesia-Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meeting.  

Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate General of Law and International Treaties (HPI) Secretary  Damos Dumoli Agusman as Chairman of the Indonesian Delegation and the Head of Delegation of the Philippines, Under-Secretary for Philippines Political MOFA, Enrico Manolo stressed the importance of this forum to exchange maritime-interest related views of both countries.

The issues addressed at the 9th JPWG-MOC, among others, were Post Maritime Boundary Delimitation; Maritime Cooperation; and Marine and Fisheries Cooperation.

In this forum, Bakamla RI that was represented by Sub-Directorate of International Law and Legislation Head Colonel Maritime Agung Mardiwibowo and Multilateral Cooperation and International Organizations Section Head Major Maritime Hudiansyah Is Nursal discussed the second issue ‘Maritime Cooperation’ wherein between Bakamla RI and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) discussed the scheme of cooperation between the two institutions.

Indonesian delegation consisted of the representatives of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Coordinating Maritime Affairs Ministry, Maritime Security Board, Transportation Ministry, the National SAR Agency, Indonesian Navy Headquarters, Geospatial Information Agency, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Ministry of Defence and the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines.
