Jakarta, InfoPublik - Indonesian people were recently shocked after the chaotic rallies conducted by public transportation drivers in several places in the capital city of Jakarta.

The action was allegedly said as result of intensified business competition between online and conventional transportation industries. Indonesian Manpower Minister Muhammad Hanif Dhakiri commented on the protest against online transport modes which had been marred by a number of anarchistic actions. “The demonstration is a form of people's aspiration. But it is important to avoid anarchy," said the Minister in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/22).

According to the Minister, the emergence of online-application-based business is inevitable and is an integral part of the development of human civilization.

"Online applications are part of the development of the world that can not be denied. So, people should also follow the development of an increasingly competitive world. But, do not forget the conventional industries," said Minister of Manpower.

He also reminded us that nowadays, the implementation of technology and information systems to the industrial world is common. "This is a step of the relevant industry to be more competitive," he said.

He explained that the continuously developing technology and information must be balanced with the development of industry and human resources. It is expected that the impact of the implementation of technology and information in the industry can be well-managed, so that negative impacts can be anticipated.

"However, government and business actors must be able to anticipate the occuring negative impacts. The development of more competitive modern industry requires more competitive human resources," he said.

Hanif said that one way to improve human resource competency is through job training. With competitive human resources, the negative impacts of business competition can be minimized.

"By the enhancement of the human resource quality (to be more competitive), any developments in the competitive industry world will have good and positive impacts," said Hanif. (Translator : Erik Limantara)
