Jakarta, InfoPublik – The presidential system established by Indonesian post-reform governments and supported by all components of the nation has shown positive results.
"The essence of presidential administration is to strengthen the government nationally, starting from the central to the local administration in order to strengthen local autonomy," said the Indonesian Interior Minister Tjahjo Kumolo in Jakarta, Saturday (1/16).
According to Minister Kumolo, all elected regional heads and deputy heads are required to implement the political decision for national development.
"Currently, we are also preparing and formulating regulations concerning two elections that will be applied; the National Elections and the Local Elections," he said.
He added that every 20 October within five years of interval, there will be the inauguration of president and vice president. "It will be preceded by the inauguration of the members of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and the members of the House of Representatives (DPR). We expect local elections could be performed no later than December," he said. (Translator: Penni Patmawati Rusman)
