Jakarta, InfoPublik – President Joko Widodo will attend the National Press Day (HPN) 2016 celebration and the groundbreaking ceremony of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Tourism Polytechnic development.
The Chairman of HPN 2016 Teguh Santosa, in a press statement released on Sunday (1/17), said both events will take place at the NTB Tourism Polytechnic construction site in Mandalika Beach, Lombok.
Lalu Syafii, NTB Governor’s Assistant III, had directly conveyed the groundbreaking ceremony plan to the Tourism Minister Arief Yahya and the HPN 2016 committee in a meeting in early January 2016.
In the meeting, Mr. Syafii stated that the Polytechnic will be built in an area of 15 hectares in Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Mandalika is one of 10 new tourist destinations set by the government. The development is in accordance with the national and local government effort to increase the number of foreign and domestic tourist visits to NTB.
The Polytechnic is expected to produce skilled workers in the tourism industry to support central government’s effort to achieve the target of 20 million foreign tourist arrivals by 2019.
Furthermore, on Monday, January 18, 2016, the central and local committee of HPN 2016 along with NTB Provincial Government held a meeting to discuss the preparations of the events. (Translator: Penni Patmawati Rusman)
