Jakarta, InfoPublik - President Joko Widodo said that all member countries of the United Nations (UN) organization must unite in fighting the negative impacts of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in various sectors to break the chain of spreading the epidemic in the world.

"The countries should be united in overcoming this outbreak," said Joko Widodo at the 75th UN General Assembly Address, which was witnessed virtually on Wednesday (9/23).

Unity in dealing with this outbreak, the President continued, would be very beneficial in stopping the spread of Covid-19 permanently. The efforts carried out can run optimally in preventing any potential infections in various situations.

There is no point in having rivalries between countries in an unhealthy effort to tackle this epidemic in other parts of the world. It will only raise the potential for conflict and division during the Covid-19 crisis.

"There is no point in being the biggest economy in a sinking world," he said.

Supposedly, a win-win solution should always be put forward in facing a pandemic that endangers the stability of this nation. The goal is that every other country can also get the same opportunity in striving to handle Covid-19 properly.

"We have to use the principle of a win-win solution because this virus knows no national borders," he concluded. (Photo: By Istimewa)
