Health Minister’s Regulation on Large-Scale Social Restrictions Encourages Synergy to Overcome Covid-19

Jakarta, InfoPublik - President Joko Widodo expected Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) Number 9 of 2020 on the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to be able to create a synergy between central and regional governments in handling Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

"Cooperation between the central government and the regions is essential. We have one vision and one guideline in fighting Covid-19 pandemic," President Joko Widodo said in a virtual conference on Monday (6 April).

According to him, the regulation will become a guideline for regional governments in overcoming the potential spread of Covid-19. This regulation also aims to help both central and regional governments in preventing the spread of the virus optimally.

"So that we will be able to prevent and stop the chains of transmission of COVID-19 quickly," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo ordered Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto to immediately establish a Ministerial Regulation as a guideline for regional governments in implementing the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy in dealing with the spread of Covid-19.

"Do it in two days" said President Joko Widodo through a video conference on Thursday (2 April).

According to him, the Ministerial Regulation will explain criteria of regions that are eligible for PSBB as well as steps to be taken by the region to implement the policy in order to halt and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. (Photo: Humas Setkab.go.id/Rah)
