InfoPublik – The Legislation Council of the House of Representatives (Baleg DPR) will organize a legislative workshop to finish National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) bills which have not been discussed by the House.

They include bills on State Civil Apparatus (ASN), palm oil, broadcasting, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), indigenous custom, quarantine, and legislative institutions (MD3).

"We will organize legislative workshop and expect all members of the Legislation Council participate," said Baleg’s deputy chairman Firman Soebagyo at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday (8/21).

The workshop, he added, is a form of synergy between the government and the legislature in formulating legislation. The objective is to make sure that any legislation formulated by both parties are in accordance with the peoples’ needs. “After the workshop, we will establish a work committee so there are no bills withdrawn anymore," he said.

He expects the government and Legislation Council members attend the workshop, so that the quality of legislation formulated will be better. "Formulating good legislations is a priority. Therefore, I urge fellow council members to attend this important workshop," he concluded. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
