Morrocan Correspondent Interested in VEEP's Speech on Press Freedom

Jakarta, InfoPublik - A correspondent of the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP), Abdelalem Dinia, said he was interested in Indonesia’s Vice President Jusuf Kalla’s speech at the opening of the World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) celebration which is being held in the Jakarta Convention Center on May 1-4, 2017.

“I was interested in Vice President Jusuf  Kalla’s speech as he knows how to speak with journalists,” he said, adding that the way Indonesia organizes such a big event as the World Press Freedom Day should be a role model for other countries,” he said.

The World Press Freedom Day celebration is running very well as the  Indonesian government is organizing  the event in details and  the organizing committee  invites  all relevant parties  and huge number of journalists including those from other countries said on May 3, 2017, at the Jakarta Convention Center, Abdelalem said.

Following news in Indonesia, the Morrocan correspondent noted that the number of violence against  journalists in the country is considerably reducing under the current government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla officially opened the World Press Freedom Day celebration on May 3, 2017, at the Jakarta Convention Center. 

Among the remarks in his opening speech,  the vice president said the government need criticism from the media but they should also be responsible for and objective in producing their stories  for the interest of the nation and the people. (Bambang Purwanto)
