DPR Member Urges Jakartans to Escort the New Governor Programs

Jakarta, InfoPublik –House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I member Rachel Maryam urged all Jakarta citizens to oversee the programs of the elected Governor and Vice Governor for 2017-2022 Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Sandiaga Solahudin Uno.

"I want the Jakarta citizens to think positive and to wait for the governor-elect to manivest their campaign promises," she said on Sunday (4/23).

She continued that the Jakarta gubernotarial election was over, thus it’s time for the supporters of both pair candidates to unite. The unison is needed to support the programs that will be implemented after Anies-Sandi are officially inaugurated as the Jakarta governor and vice governor in October.

“One of the most important thing to do in Anies’ 100 days is to embrace not only his supporters but also his opposing party and all communities in Jakarta,” she added.

Furthermore, she explained that eventhough her party is one of Anies-Sandi’s supporters, her party will act as guards to oversee  every programs implemented by the elected governor. If the program are seemed not benefitting the public, she will immediately rebuke them.

"We will continue to support Anies-Sandi as long as their programs advocate people’s development, if they are not, we wont hesitate to rebuke," she concluded. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
