Pekanbaru, InfoPublik - Pekanbaru Legislative Council (DPRD) is optimistic that in 2017 the city would meet its target to discuss 37 regional regulation bills (raperda). Earlier this year the city has forged ahead by finishing the discussion of 6 bills. It was stated by Pekanbaru Legislative Council deputy chairman Sondiawarman when interviewed during his official duty.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), we are now discussing 6 bills which are now in the stage of fraction consideration. We hope this Friday (20/01) we will receive respond from government and the special committee will soon be established," said Sondiawarman, who is National Mandate Party (PAN)’s politician.
According to him, after the discussion of the 6 Bills, the council is optimistic to finish discussion of the other 31 bills by the end of this year.
"The performance of DPRD is measured by the number of regulation retified. We will try our best, especially regulation related to public services," he said. When asked regarding to the regulation targeted this year, he said that he did not remember the details of the 37 bills and did not mention the number of the Government and initiative Board’s proposal (MC Riau/Ch/Eyv) (Translator:Sugiarti)
