Jakarta, InfoPublik - Indonesian Military (TNI) Engineer Company (Zeni) Task Force Konga XX-M/MONUSCO or Indonesian Engineering Company (Indo Eng Coy) was rated by the United Nations as the best contingent or top rated performance in this six-month period.

Konga XX-M MONUSCO Information officer Lieutenant Czi Ruzald DY Auparay through a press release on Thursday (5/12) explained that the Indonesian contingent was selected to join Biannual Integrated Engineering Conference held by the Head Quarter Force Engineering MONUSCO (Mission de l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour La Stabilisation en Republique Democratique du Congo) in the Democratic Republic of Congo,on Wednesday.

According Ruzald the Konga XX-M Contingent led by Lt. Col. Czi Sriyanto as Task Force Commander was previously ranked second before replacing the Engineering Contingent of Nepal. It deserved to get the position because the Engineering Contingent of Indonesia had the highest contribution percentage, surpassed five other engineering contingents, in terms of key tasks, major tasks and additional duties (minor tasks).

In the implementation of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Indonesian contingent is contributing in the field of engineering with the main task of carrying out construction investigation (reconnaissance) both vertically and horizontally, explosives identification and disposal such as grenades and UXO found in the mission area, Cimic, Quick Impact Project, and the training of the Congolese National Army (RARDC) to support the MONACO mission.

Besides Indonesia, there are five other countries joining the engineering contingent namely Nepal Engineering Company (NEC), Bangladesh Engineering Company (BEC), South Africa (RSA), Uruguay Engineering Company (UEC), and the Chinese Engineering Company (CEC).

The contingents from those six countries attend Biannual Integrated Engineering Conference. The conference, which is held every six months, evaluates the performance and innovation of the contingent of each member country of the Engineering Force MONUSCO.

The conference also decides the tasks for each contingent in accordance with the priority scale within the next six-month period. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
