Thousands of Combined Forces Personnels Secure President’s Visit to Padang

Padang, InfoPublik - A total of 3,628 combined forces personnel including the Indonesian Military (TNI), Police, and related agencies were deployed to secure the arrival of President Joko Widodo in Padang in order to inaugurate the Naval Exercise Komodo 2016 tomorrow.
 
Bukit Barisan Military Commander Maj. Gen. Lodewyk Pusung explained that the personnel will be stationed at prone points or areas. "The deployed personnel have their own expertise, such as intelligence, raid and other expertise," he said in Teluk Bayur Naval Base (Lantamal II), on Monday (4/11).
 
Meanwhile, foreign troops or guests from foreign countries will be secured by the Navy’s Elite Frogmen Command (Kopaska). In conducting this task, security forces are to increase their coordination to ensure the smooth running of the event.
 
"In this security task, every personnel should know their own responsibility in each assignment area. Personnel are divided into teams serving in ring one, two and three,“ he said.
 
The Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2016 event will be held tomorrow, April 12, 2016. Here are the details of the agenda:
 
At 08.00, the Multilateral Naval Excercise Komodo 2016 will be inaugurated by Indonesian President at Teluk Bayur Naval Base (Lantamal II), followed by the traditional canoe race at Selaju Bakali, Agus Salim Sports Arena an hour later.
 
At 09.45, Joy Sailing and Boat Inspections by the President as well as the fishing boats parade at Teluk Bayur Offshore.
 
At 12.45, Peace Monument Inauguration by the President of The Republic of Indonesia and the peace inscription signing by the Navy Chief of Staff and delegation leaders in Muaro Lasak Beach.
 
At 14:30, City Carnival (by the navy personnels from 30 countries, naval academy cadet marching band parade, and cultural parade) will start form the Governor's Office, Jalan Sudirman, Jalan A Yani, Jalan Olo Field, Jalan Samudera (Purus), and finish at the Cimpago Beach. Later at 19.30 PM, soldier stage and fireworks party will be held at Cimpago Beach. (Translator : Erik Limantara)
