Jayapura, InfoPublik - President Joko Widodo attended the Judo match at the National Paralympic Games (Peparnas) XVI Papua held at the Trikora Sports Building, Jayapura City, Papua, Saturday (11/13).
Before the match, the Presidential Security Details are securing every corner of the Trikora Sports Center.
The Head of State arrived at the venue at around 15:30 local time and immediately watched the elite free-class Judo match. Youth and Sports Minister Zainuddin Amali, Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tomi Mano, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and State Secretary Minister Pratikno accompanied the President to watch the match.
The final match between national athlete Disiana Bin Syarifudin from Papua with the elite +78kg class athlete Roma Siska immediately began shortly after their arrival.
President Joko Widodo and his entourage watched the second final match, namely the heavyweight +100kg class of elite athlete Rafli Ahnaf Shidqi and national athlete Rizky Budiman from West Java.
Technical Delegate of Judo RM Dimas Ariwibowo stated that President Joko Widodo would be presenting the gold medals to the elite class winners at the medal ceremony.
"In the last two days, we have been coordinating with the Presidential Security Details regarding medal awarding by the President's to the athletes,” he said.
The elite free class is the last Judo match at Peparnas XVI Papua. A total of 38 Judokas will compete in this class to win two golds, two silvers, and four bronze medals.
In detail, these medals will be divided equally for the Men's and Women’s classes categories. Thus, each will win one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
Meanwhile, of the 38 participating athletes, 28 will be competing under the Men's class ranging from the under 50 kilograms (-50 kg) class to above 90 kilograms (+90kg) class. The remaining ten athletes will compete under the Women's class from the under 50 kilograms (-50 kg) class to above 90 kilograms (+90kg) class.
All athletes who competed in this match came from 13 contingents. They are from West Java, Central Java, East Java, DKI Jakarta, Riau Islands, Jambi, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Riau, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bali, and Papua.
