Jayapura, InfoPublik – National Paralympic Games (Peparnas) Organizing Committee Chief - the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe - felt proud of the sportsmanship of para-athletes that competed in Peparnas Papua.
“Today, once again, I stood before you, strong people, who fought to overcome your limitations for your respective provinces. As the host, the chief of the Peparnas XVI Papua organizing committee, and Papua Governor, I am proud and thank you for your sportsmanship,” said Lukas Enembe in his statement during the closing ceremony of Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 at Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, Saturday (11/13).
He is proud of the spirit shown by Papuan para-athletes. He feels that the Papuan contingent proved the slogan “Torang Bisa. Barang Apa Jadi.” (We can do it. We can do everything) by becoming the overall champion of Peparnas XVI.
Lukas Enembe left a message for other contingents that they did not lose. He believes that they will get their expected result in the future.
He explained that there are many things to learn from the success of Peparnas Papua. Everyone needs to be grateful for God’s gifts, that the position of people with disabilities is the same as non-disabled people, and that we all need to fight for the principle of equality needs.
After PON XX and Peparnas XVI Papua, he urged Papua people to utilize and maintain the magnificent sports facilities built with international standards in Papua.
In front of President Joko Widodo, he reported that Papua is a province that can hold national and international events.
President Joko Widodo officially closed Peparnas Papua on Saturday (11/13).
