Jakarta, InfoPublik - The construction of the Makassar-Parepare railway line with a length of 144 km is one of the important achievements of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) this year.
In the first railway line development project in South Sulawesi, DJKA also built seven new stations along the line which have been undergoing limited trial operations since October 2022.
"Thanks to the support of the community, this year we have also inaugurated the modernization of Jatinegara Station, Cikarang Station, operation of the Bogor-Sukabumi double line for the Bogor Paledang - Cicurug section, and operation of Matraman Station as one of the new stations built by DJKA," explained Acting Director General of Railways, Risal Wasal, on Monday, 12 December 2022.
In addition, Risal stated that 2022 will be an important year for the development of the Manggarai Station. This is because, this year, his office has carried out 2 switchovers as a series of development stages at the station which is located in South Jakarta.
Despite pros and cons during the construction, he is optimistic that the development of Manggarai Station will have a positive impact on the community.
"We apologize if during the construction, there were adjustments that caused inconvenience. We also want to thank you for your patience and understanding of the ongoing development process, God willing (InsyaAllah), the convenience that we sacrificed today will bring good results in the future when the construction of the station is finished," he said.
Furthermore, Risal also said that this year DJKA has succeeded in completing the construction of the Tebing Tinggi - Kuala Tanjung railway line for the Tebing Tinggi - Lalang section. "Alhamdulillah (Thank God), on 2 December 2022, we carried out soft launching of Datuk Blambangan train which will serve Tebing Tinggi - Lalang route," he said.
Risal added that the development achievements that were successfully carried out by DJKA this year are expected to bring benefits and fulfill the needs of the community.
"Especially during the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 period. We hope that the railway facilities and infrastructure that we have built can help mobilize the community while enjoying the holidays with their families," he concluded.
