Jakarta, InfoPublik - PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Dwi Soetjipto said Pertamina is collaborating with villager associationof Wonocolo village of East Java to develop Oil and Gas Tourism Village called Wonocolo Petroleum Geoheritage.
"For those who are eager to learn the the history of oil in Indonesia, Wonocolo is one of the sites to be visited," Dwi said in an official statement on Saturday (23/7).
According to Dwi, Oil and Gas Tourism Village in Wonocolo is very interesting. the site can be explored by bicycle or jeep.
"By riding a bicycle or a jeep, visitors can refresh their body and mind while observing and visualizing Indonesian oil and gas operation in the past," he said while cycling in Wonocolo.
Traditional oil wells located in Wonocolo village, has been operated traditionally by local community for more than 100 years. Most of Wonocolo residents rely on this traditional wells for living. However, naturally the oil production will decrease and one day it will stop.
The establishment of Wonocolo Petroleum Geoheritage is based on the uniqueness of geology structure at Wonocolo village. (Translator: Sugiarti)
