Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has established cooperation with Emporia Digital and Alibaba.com in the development of digital market basic to form e-commerce roadmap.
Marketing Services Agency for Cooperatives and SMEs (LLP-KUKM) Director Ahmad Zabadi said that they has urged cooperatives and SMEs to collaborate with market place, national and international trading portals to use e-commerce. “The open market is an opportunity for national entrepreneurs to enter digital economy.The development concept will be similar to the methid used by Alibaba.com when building SMEs business in China,” Zabadi said on Wednesday (30/3).
Zabadi stated that the next step to do with Emporia Digital and Alibaba.com is to provide training and consultation programs for SMEs actors in Indonesia
For the last five year, e-commerce business in Indonesia has undergone a significant development. SMEs actors must use this opportunity optimally.
A research conducted by Indonesian E-commerce Association (IDEA), Google Indonesia, and a leading market research firm Taylor Nelson Sofres showed that in 2013 the market value of Indonesian e-commerce reached $ 8 billion or Rp94.5 trillion.
“We hope that this cooperation can help SMEs to develop market share and brand equity in digital world. With Indonesia’s number of internet user that reached 82 million people or 30% of the population, it is a promising potential for business perpetrators,” he explained. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
