Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) targeted Rp 2.6 trillion savings from branchless financial service program (Laku Pandai) this year, as said by OJK Head of Banking Supervision Department III Teguh Supangkat.
"The target is far above last year’s achieved BSA (basic savings accounts) at Rp 67.6 billion," said Teguh in a discussion themed “One Year of Laku Pandai: between Hope and Reality" in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/22).
He explained that 20 commercial banks will follow the other seven banks to participate in Laku Pandai Program. With 27 banks running the Program, OJK targeted to reach 167.524 agents.
Teguh continued that in 2016, 11 banks under category of BUKU III and BUKU IV targeted to collect Rp 2.29 trillion worth BSA savings with 165.038 agents.
Meanwhile, 16 banks under category of BUKU I and BUKU II targeted Rp 326.6 billion savings from 2,486 agents. "We hope we can achieve this target, so that the financial inclusion can run properly," said Teguh at a discussion on Laku Pandai, a program of provision of banking services and other financial services through cooperation with other parties (bank agents) which is supported by the use of ICT infrastructure.
The program aims to provide simple financial products based on the needs of communiiesy with no access to financial services industry.
In addition, this program also aims to boost economic growth and equitable development between regions in Indonesia, especially between rural and urban areas.
The products provided in this program are BSA-based saving, credit or financing to micro customers, and other financial products such as micro insurance. (Translator : Erik Limantara)
