Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Highlight of the National Film Day (HFN) 2016 on Wednesday (3/30) was held in the Jakarta City Hall’s Balai Agung (Great Hall).
HFN 2016 Committee Chairman Niniek L. Karim asserted that according to the theme "Indonesian Film is Us", the events held in HFN 2016 should be close to the people.
"The word ‘Us’ means the people of Indonesia," said Niniek in Great Hall of Jakarta, Wednesday (3/30).
The event began with hand-over ceremony of blueprint resulted from a two days’ workshop conducted by 80 filmmakers in early March. "The blueprint is the agreed concept for arranging a film festival for young people in Indonesia," she explained.
Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama welcomed HFN 2016 at the Jakarta City Hall’s Great Halls.
According to him, films inspire and influence public a lot. "I am proud, we can produce films with similar qualities with that of Hollywood movies in terms of techniques," he said.
Also attending the event were Education and Culture Minister Anies Baswedan, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, and also best Indonesian filmmakers. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
