MCI's Director-General of IKP Invites Millennial Writers to Raise G20 Theme at Lombok Writer Festival 2022

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Director-General of Information and Public Communications (IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, invites millennial writers to participate in the 2022 Lombok Writer Festival to raise the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency theme.

The writings will be published in various digital media and are expected to publicize the G20 event in society, especially the Indonesian millennial generation.

"I also hope that the writings will relate to the G20 and will evoke tourism not only in Lombok but also in Indonesia," said the Director-General of IKP in his remarks at Day 2 of Lombok Writer Festival 2022. The event was held online by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics with IDN Times, Thursday (3/10).

According to Usman Kansong, the Presidency of the G20 Indonesia is a significant event for the nation because it will become the nation's branding or image in the eyes of the international community.

For this reason, the entire community, especially millennial writers who were participated in the 2022 Lombok Writer Festival, are expected to coact in echoing the G20 event through various digital media campaigns.

"The G20 can be an instrument to raise the nation branding or image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world through tourism," he said.

Usman also invites millennial writers to explore the natural beauty, which is the main potential for tourism in the Lombok area, West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Apart from writing, MCI also expects millennial writers to use other media such as video to create imagination and descriptions that strengthen the work they produce.

With these works, he continued, millennial writers also contributed to efforts to revive the Indonesian economy after the COVID-19 pandemic through the tourism sector.

"I hope the event will run smoothly and then produce, create creative young writers, who can contribute to efforts to revive the Indonesian economy after the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
