Jakarta, InfoPublik - In order to strengthen cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with Indonesia National Museum held Saudi Arabia Cultural Week, starting from 27 to 30 March 2016.
Indonesia National Museum Head of Partnership Section Syafe'i stated that the event features a wide variety of Saudi Arabian cultures such as traditional clothes, art, painting, henna hand painting, and musical performances by Saudi Arabian artists.
"The exhibition is expected to strengthen the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, particularly in the fields of culture," said Mr. Syafe'i to InfoPublik, Tuesday (3/28).
Entering the third day, he admitted that he was surprised by public’s enthusiasm. The number of visitor exceeds the target. "Until today, the total number of visitor might have reached 3000 to 4000 people. It's beyond our expectations," he said.
He explained that in this exhibition, the culinary culture of Saudi Arabia became the visitor’s most favorable features. This can be seen from the number of queues in culinary booths which displayed dates, pastries, and Zamzam water. "The foods are free for visitors to taste," he said. He also hoped that this event will take place smoothly until the closing day.
Fitri, a visitor from Tangerang said she was happy with this event, because it allowed her to see and learn Saudi culture without visiting the country. "I am glad with this kind of event. It gives me information about Arabic culture," she said. (Translator: Siti Chodijah)
