Basuki Wants Improvement of Queueing System in Several General Hospitals

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Jakarta Provincial Government will improve queueing system at some Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Jakarta to eradicate the practice of room middleman.

"We actually have good system, I've asked them to follow Tarakan and Koja Hospitals," said Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (25/8).

He would take firm action against any hospital officer fiddling with the hospital room. The heaviest sanctions could be a dismissal, because in doing their tasks, tey are  directly facing the public. “if you know anyone playing, note and report, " he said.

Earlier, Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi revealed, the practice of room fiddling as still found in one of the hospitals in the capital.

He said he found a hospital rejected a patient insured by Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan). The hospital said that all room was booked, whereas actually  many rooms were still available.

Besides  Tarakan and Koja Hospitals, Jakarta also has other general hospitals, among others: RSUD Pasar Minggu, RSUD Pasar Rebo,  RSUD Duren Sawit, Budi Asih, Cengkareng, and RSUD Pulau Pramuka. (Translator: Sugiarti)
