Minister Puan distributes Healthy Indonesia Card at UNS Hospital

Solo, InfoPublik - Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani inspected Sebelas Maret University Hospital (RS UNS) in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday (8/10).

She was accompanied by Research, Technology, and Higher Education Minister Mohammad Nasir; Health Minister Nila Moeloek; and Sebelas Maret University rector Ravik Karsidi.

Arriving at the hospital, she was welcomed by three pediatric patients--Nabila, Farish, and Ahmad.

The entourage inspected the hospital’s facilities, among others, pediatric department, intensive care, radiology, pharmacy, and emergency rooms.

Minister Puan hoped the hospital would improve the community health services in Central Java province and Sukoharjo regency in particular. “RS UNS must make a positive impact by improving the quality of community health services," she said.

The hospital is one of 17 hospitals at the universities whose medical faculty holds Accreditation A. The teaching hospital is expected to continuously create innovation to improve health services quality.

"I hope this hospital will be a laboratory to develop innovations in health sector and be a medical science development center in Central Java," she said.

On the occasion, she also distributed Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) to the communities in Surakarta which was represented by Dian, a construction worker’s wife; Dyah, a widow; and Ismi Rodayah, a worker.

Rector Ravik admitted that he was so pleased with the ministers’ visit. "We hope the hospital will increasingly gain public trust and develop innovations in health and medicine sector," he concluded. (Translator: Filmon Warouw)
