Jakarta, InfoPublik - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Tjahjo Kumolo banned the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in all Government Agencies from travelling home/mudik for Eid al-Fitr this year so as to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Minister Tjahjo stressed this will apply not only during Eid al-Fitr 1441 H, but also during the ongoing disaster emergency period due to the Coronavirus. This is stated in the Circular of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucracy Reform Number 36 of 2020 on Limitation of Out-of-Region Traveling and/or Mudik for State Civil Apparatus in Preventing the Spread of Covid-19.

"State Civil Apparatus and family are requested not to go mudik," said Minister Tjahjo in a video conference. He was accompanied by the Ministry’s Secretary Dwi Wahyu Atmaji and Head of the Civil Servant Agency (BKN) Bima Haria Wibisana, at Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry Office, Jakarta, Monday (30/3/2020).

This policy is a response to the Extension of Status of the Certain Disaster Emergency Conditions Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic in Indonesia, which has been issued by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

He stated that this policy is to halt the spread of Covid-19 caused by human mobility from one region to another in Indonesia. Staffing Officers (PPK) at the Ministries/Agencies/Regions are ordered to ensure the State Civil Apparatus within their respective government agencies do not travel outside the region by taking into account the provisions of the regulations regarding employee discipline.

In addition, the Minister requested State Civil Apparatus to participate in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia by actively reminding the community in their neighborhood not to travel out-of-region and/or mudik and to keep a safe distance during interaction between individuals.

He also called State Civil Apparatus to helps ease the burden of people who are in need around their neighborhood, and to implement clean and healthy lifestyle. "Convey positive information to the public related to the Covid-19 spread prevention," he concluded.
