Jakarta, InfoPublik - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt, on Sunday night (11/6).

Quoted from the wapres.go.id page on Monday (11/7), the Vice President came to attend a series of activities at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Summit, more commonly referred to as Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, or COP27.

The vice president and his entourage landed at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport at around 18.30 local time after taking a flight from Cairo. Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar, and Indonesian Defense Attaché in Egypt Aria Sanggita Saleh welcomed the arrival of the Vice President on the plane steps.

The Vice President will represent President Joko Widodo at the Opening of the 27th COP Summit at the Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Center. Not only that, after attending the opening of the summit, the Vice President is also scheduled to deliver a speech on the High-Level Segment agenda after the Vice President of Kuwait.

For information, the previous Climate Change Summit, namely COP26, was held on 31 October-12 November 2021 in Glasgow, Scotland, with the theme Leading Action Together Climate. The UK as President and Italy as the organizing partner for 2020-2021. At COP26, President Joko Widodo was present and gave a speech at the World Leaders Summit on Forest and Land Use.
