Indonesia, Korea Exchange E-Government Implementation Experience

According to Minister Chrisnandi, it is proper to learn the success of the Republic of Korea in implementing e-government. "Korea has a successful experience in the implementation of e-Government, so it would be very useful if we learn from South Korea," he said in his speech while receiving South Korean delegation at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform office in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/2).

 

He said that electronic-based government policy is the main foundation of the nation's development, and e-government is one of the ministry’s real efforts to support the implementation of President Joko Widodo programs.

 

“It is in accordance with the second priority agenda of Nawacita in which makes the government always presents by building a clean, effective, democratic, and reliable government," he said.

 

He continued that the subpriority agenda in realizing the second agenda of Nawacita—President Joko Widodo nine priorities—is to establish a transparent governance, perform bureaucratic reform, and open public participation.

 

The second point of Nawacita becomes the main reference for the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform in coordinating the implementation of the utilization of state apparatus policy and bureaucracy reform in order to create a world-class governance in 2019.

 

Thus, he added, Indonesia will also be able to compete at the global level, particularly in the arena of the ASEAN Economic Community.

 

He said that the existence of the forum for cooperation between the two countries is expected to encourage the implementation of policies in the field of e-government or electronic-based government system.

 

"The policy is considered as a measure to enhance governance patterns by utilizing information and communication technology to support the path of government administration and the development of an integrated, effective, and efficient government’s business process," he said.

 

At the same time on that occasion, the Head Office of Electronic Government Cooperation Centre (EGCC) was inaugurated as a mean to facilitate cooperation between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Korea, especially in the field of e-government. By the inauguration of the EGCC, both countries are able to share experiences and discuss measures to promote practical cooperation in the field of e-government and bureaucratic reforms.

 

"Furthermore, through EGCC, it is possible for both parties to develop various other forms of cooperation in many sectors such as e-government master plan; the exchange of experience in order to increase capacity and consultation in the formulation of policies in the field of e-government; etc. which could benefit the progress of the two countries,” he said.
