Jayapura, InfoPublik - The success of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital transformation era,including those of Papua, is determined by the quality of human capital, as well as digital infrastructure such as the Palapa Ring, satellite, and base transceiver stations (BTS).
To date, based on data from aptika.kominfo.go.id, more than 5,000 BTS have been built in Papua.
"One of the efforts to accelerate digital transformation is through the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) Papua 2022," said Director of Information and Communications for Economic and Maritime Affairs of the Indonesia Ministry of Communications and Informatics’ Directorate General of Public Information and Communications, Septriana Tangkary, after a coordination meeting for BBI Binar Digital Papua in Jayapura, Monday (22/8/2022) was concluded.
According to Septriana, through the Gernas BBI Papua 2022, MSMEs are encouraged to step up its class and be globally competitive.
Septriana said that digital transformation in the public sector has continued to strengthen in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been forcing people to adapt quickly. This did not leave Papua, which is an region full of potentials.
According to Septriana, people should be able to enjoy the convenience and good impact of the digital era.
Septriana added that Gernas BBI Papua 2022 has received full support from State-owned enterprise PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) and state-owned telecommunication operator Telkomsel to assure the connectivity. Support also came from a number of national e-commerce platforms.
In terms of news coverage and publication, the event is broadcast through communications channels owned by Directorate General of Public Information and Communications. In addition, the event is also broadcast by state-owned public broadcaster TVRI which can also be relayed by other national television operators.
The peak event of Gernas BBI Papua 2022 will be held on Wednesday (24/8/2022) at Cenderawasih Sports Center of Jayapura City, and will be attended by, among others, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut B. Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Minister of Home Affairs M. Tito Karnavian, Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Teten Masduki, Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, and Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo.
