Jakarta, InfoPublik - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was present as speaker at Virtual Press Conference of Y20 Summit on Saturday,2 July 2022. On this occasion, Governor Anies Baswedan expressed his appreciation and support for the Y20 Summit activities as a series of the G20 Presidency of Indonesia. "We expressed our full support from Jakarta Provincial Government and our appreciation for our colleagues who have made all out preparation for Y20 activities since last year," said Governor Anies Baswedan, as quoted in Jakarta PPID release, Saturday, 2 July 2022. Furthermore, Governor Anies Baswedan also hoped that the Y20 Summit delegates will be able to produce a communique on youth issues to be brought to the G20 Presidency. Especially because the future of this world lies in the hands of young people. “The point of the meeting is the Y20 communique, a policy recommendation based on the results of global research and survey to be given to the leaders of the G20 countries. The G20 must accommodate young people’s opinion, because they are the future, their voices should be heard by G20 leaders," he said. Priority issues that will be discussed at the Y20 Summit include: - Youth Employment; - Digital Transformation; - A Sustainable and Livable Planet; - Diversity and Inclusion. Governor Anies Baswedan also opened opportunity for collaboration on the recommendation of Y20 in Jakarta. "We in Jakarta will support it, especially our approach from the start is collaboration. So, we are open to all of you, and we will support and facilitate it, so that the delegates will feel how this city has unity in diversity, both sociologically and economically," he added. Governor Anies Baswedan said that the Y20 Summit is a manifestation of Jakarta as a Global City that is ready to produce various global decisions. "Jakarta is a global city whose citizens are involved in global decision-making and Y20 is also included in it," he said. As we know, Jakarta and Bandung were chosen to host the Y20 Summit, an engagement group of G20 Presidency. Indonesia through the G20 Presidency will promote sustainable development for developing countries.
