Jakarta, InfoPublik - Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo said his administration is advancing digitalization programs for digital financial-economic integration, financial-economic inclusion, and national economic recovery support.
Digital economic and financial transactions are expanding, in line with increasing public acceptance and preference for online shopping, expansion, the convenience of digital payment systems, and acceleration of digital banking.
"In October 2021, the value of electronic money transactions (EU) grew 55.54 percent (YoY) to Rp29.23 trillion while the value of digital banking transactions increased by 63.31 percent (YoY) to Rp3,910.25 trillion," Perry said in a press release received in Jakarta, Saturday, 27 November.
Perry stated that the value of payment transactions using ATM cards, debit cards, and credit cards was recorded at Rp664.26 trillion, growing 6.37 percent (YoY).
This is reinforced by the expansion of the QRIS ecosystem which exceeded the 2021 target and reached 12.5 million merchants in mid-November 2021.
This achievement is the result of the collaboration and synergy between the Central and Regional Governments, Ministries/Institutions, associations/organizations, industry, and all elements of society.
In terms of cash transactions, the total currency in circulation (UYD) in October 2021 increased by 5.9 percent (YoY) to reach Rp854.3 trillion.
"Bank Indonesia continues to ensure the availability of money in all regions of Indonesia, as well as digitizing money management and education for the Cinta Bangga Paham (CBP) Rupiah program," concluded Perry.
