Towards Expo 2020 Dubai: The Indonesia Pavilion Showcases the Archipelago’s Best Potential

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Indonesia Pavilion is ready to present various weekly programs to show Indonesia's best potential at the Expo 2020 Dubai which is set to open on 1 October 2021.

The Indonesia Pavilion is a miniature of Indonesia that serves as a door to introduce Indonesia to the world. To get optimal benefits for the nation's economy, Indonesia will feature various programs in the trade, investment, and tourism sectors during the entire six-month participation at the Expo.

Trade Ministry's Director-General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi said the Indonesia Pavilion through the synergy of ministries, institutions, and local governments, as well as collaboration with the private sector, is ready to present various programs such as business forums, rolling exhibitions, as well as art and cultural performances.

“The weekly programs featured at the Indonesia Pavilion will likewise introduce the potential that Indonesia has. This is to open opportunities for collaboration with the global community in various aspects and to provide entertainment for the visitors," said Didi.

The Indonesia Pavilion will carry the concept of Connecting Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. The visitors will discover the historical journey as well as Indonesia's important role in the international arena.

The Indonesia Pavilion will also showcase Indonesia's rise as an international power. It will also reveal Indonesia's potential and commitment as a member of the global community, which contributes to making the world a better place. The Indonesia Pavilion is divided into three zones of Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, which describes Indonesia's past, present, and future.

The Indonesia Pavilion will present 26 weekly themes and more than 75 business forums. At the Business Forum, various ministries, institutions, and local governments will provide complete information about Indonesia's potential based on the categories of themes.

The Business Forum will discuss themes which include commodities, industry, and the economy. The commodities theme will discuss information, trade, and investment potential of various commodities, such as sustainable Indonesian palm oil, the potential of non-timber forest products, native Indonesian spices, and the use of endemic Indonesian plants as herbal medicines.

The industry theme will discuss the development of Indonesian industry, research, and innovation, investment potential in the industry, and infrastructure; such as the "making Indonesia 4.0" program, the halal industry in Indonesia, research and innovation in space exploration, investment opportunities in Indonesia, bureaucratic reform, physical and digital infrastructure development, to the development of special economic zones (SEZ).

Meanwhile, the economy theme will discuss economic concepts and new financing programs that have been and will be implemented in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the rolling exhibition program will involve ministries, institutions, and local governments, and will display superior assisted MSME export-worthy products.

This program aims to introduce Indonesian products and encourage MSME products to penetrate the global market and increase the value of Indonesian exports. Various products that will be displayed ranging from handicrafts, decorations, food and beverages, to fashion.

Didi also explained that Indonesia's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai could not be separated from the support of the partners of leading companies in Indonesia which for many years has been contributing to Indonesia's economic growth.

These sectors are agriculture, telecommunications, construction, automotive and start-up companies. Supporting companies and partners of the Indonesia Pavilion are PT Astra International Tbk (Astra), PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (GoTo), PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), Oil Palm Plantations Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL GROUP), PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (Indofood).
