MCI Officially Opens Digital Leadership Academy Training

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) officially opened the Digital Leadership Academy (DLA) training program on Monday, 13 September.

The DLA program targets the leadership level in the public sector, which includes ministries, non-ministerial government agencies, the Indonesian Army (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), members of DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representative Council), DPRD (Regional People's Representatives Council) throughout Indonesia, regional governments, universities, SOEs/Regionally Owned Enterprises, and the private sector.

"The DLA training is a flagship program as a manifestation of the triple helix cooperation between the government, business players, and academics in encouraging the acceleration of digital transformation in Indonesia," said Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate in a press release.

The minister explained that the DLA training program collaborates with four world-renowned universities, which provide customized executive education based on the needs of digital transformation in Indonesia.

“(namely) The National University of Singapore (NUS), with the theme Digital Transformation in Smart City for 150 participants; Tsinghua University, with the theme Digital Transformation in Digital Business for 110 participants," he explained.

Meanwhile, the other two universities are Harvard University with the theme Digital Transformation in Government: Innovating Public Policy & Service for 6 participants, and the theme Leading Smart Policy Design for 5 participants; and the University of Oxford with the theme Digital Transformation in Policy and Practice for 35 participants.

According to the minister, the opening of the DLA will start with two digital trainings for the first batch, including training with the National University of Singapore. This series of training will be held until 30 November 2021.

"The training with Harvard Kennedy School will start on 21 September to 12 October 2021, and will be held under the theme Leading Smart Policy Design," he said.

On that occasion, Minister Johnny G Plate welcomed and congratulated the DLA participants who have successfully passed the selection process, stating that all participants are "MCIT’s DLA Awardees".

“As an awardee, you have joined the nation's leading Digital HR locomotive to work together with the government to encourage national digital transformation. Good luck with the training, I hope you get the best experience, insight, and collaboration networks. I also hope that all of us will be able to contribute to our beloved nation and country, Indonesia," he said.

The minister also appreciated Minister of Law and Human Rights Yassona Laoly, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo; Chairman of House Commission I Meutya Hafid; and Head of the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency Hinsa Siburian who were present at the opening of DLA 2021.

"We shall continue and maintain the spirit of synergy and transformation today to create the best world-class digital leaders, who not only encourage the acceleration of national digital transformation but also realize a connected Indonesia that is increasingly digital, more advanced," he said.
